Basic D-Star information

To use GB3IN in digital mode you will need to set the following in your D-Star enabled radio.

Basic settings to get you working

MyCall your callsign
Ur Call CQCQCQ
RPT1 GB3IN C (note 2 spaces between call and "C") C is for module C which is by convention 2m.
RPT2 GB3IN G (note 2 spaces between call and "G") G is for module G which is the gateway or network.
So with the above set you'll be able to talk to stations using the repeater or coming in from the Gateway.

Simple Linking
You can make a link to another gateway or reflector by changing the 'Ur Call' setting to where you want to link to, for example set "REF005AL" in Ur Call and you will be able to connect to the UK reflector, or example set "GB7SF CL" in Ur Call will link you to GB7SF port C the 2m port.

To establish the link once you have setup as above you need to key up for half a second ....shortly after you unkey you will here a status message from the gateway telling you the link is established.

Once you have made the link you need to revert UrCall back to CQCQCQ before making a call....so you can see you need to program commands like this to memory as it takes ages to do it manually.

Unlinking
When you finish using the link please Unlink, to do this set Ur Call to " U" this is the U in the 8th or last position in Ur Call
Again set this up in memory for unlinking.
Don't forget to keep a check on the current schedule page for both FM and Digital
modes of operation - see here
D-Star useful links:
Link will show stations last heard on GB3IN - see here
This will show info about GB3IN on the network - see here
This one shows global activity in real time - see here

Homebrew DV Node Adapter to Icom ID-RP2C interface

This is the small interface board I threw together to connect a Satoshi DV Node Adapter based repeater to an Icom ID-RP2C D-Star controller.
It's built around a 74AC541 Line Driver Buffer integrated circuit with an inverter for the RE/COS signal from the DV Node Adapter.
